Nuclear Explosion

I made this explosion from scratch using Photoshop. For someone who isn't usually that good with the brush tool I did a great job on this.

I had to make a custom brush first and play with its settings to make the outer clouds. Then a preset brush and the smudge tool let me make the inner blast. A simple brush tool and some free transforming let me make the ring. I duplicated the layer with the inner blast and put an outer glow on it, putting the layer to the blend mode, "Linear dodge" to get the bright effect. The outer clouds and the ring have both an outer glow and an inner glow on them.
